Wars, the United Nations, NATO and The Bush Team

Neocons love wars. They are proudest of their 1950′s Cold War. That was their moment of “glory”. But inspite of their 1950′s “achievement” their influence on the American government did not flourish until the current Bush team. This Bush team seems to have fallen for the neocon “philosophy” – “hook, line and sinker”.

The neocons found, in the current Bush team, the kind of acceptance that could lead it to become the “LORD OF WARS’. They might be able to prevail where Adolph Hitler failed.

The Bush team would use the neocon’s warmongering to solve America’s terrorist problem.

While pre-Bush team America was focused on Al-Qaeda terrorists, Bush team neocons had a different idea. Saddam Hussein was known to have committed atrocities against his own people(the Kurds) and he had attempted to annex Kuwait. And unlike Al-Qaeda, who the Bush team would have to search for, everybody knew where Saddam Hussein was located – Iraq. What course of action to take? It’s a no-brainer.

The Bush team presented its case against Saddam Hussein during Mr. Bush’s 2003 State of the Union address. As a part of that address Mr. Bush linked Saddam Hussein to Niger yellowcake via “foreign intelligence”. Mr. Bush used “foreign Intelligence” because American intelligence could not find “hide nor hair” of a Niger-Iraq yellowcake connection.

America’s intelligence had trouble with the idea of “sneaking” 500 tons of uranium oxide out of a Niger facility that was managed by the French. Foreign intelligence, apparently, had no such problem and produced a document that satisfied the Bush team.

Mr. Bush, the HIGHEST ELECTED OFFICIAL IN AMERICA persuaded America’s Congress to signoff on the “smoking gun” foreign intelligence. And the Iraqi war was born. America’s military paid a visit to Iraq. The neocons now had their HOT war.

Did the United Nation’s IAEA get a chance to analyze the “smoking gun” Niger-Iraq “document” before the Bush team and its neocons sent America off to the Iraq war?

War is Hell. People will die. War produces irreverseable conditions. Surely a responsible leader will not send his people off to a “phony” war – Right? Did the United Nation’s IAEA get a chance to analyze the “smoking gun” Niger-Iraq “document” BEFORE the Bush team marched America off to the Iraqi war?

Can a Bear Fly?

The influence of the United Nations on the Bush team seemed to diminish after the United Nations failed to sign on to the “Bush Doctrine” and attack Iraq. The Bush Doctrine gave Mr. Bush the same kind of “authority” that Adolph Hitler used when he went to Poland. However, Adolph Hitler did not bother to rename his action – it remained “aggression”.

America’s history of being a responsible citizen in the world, may have prompted Mr. Bush to rename “aggression” to “Pre-Emptive Self-Defense”. Still, the United Nations was not persuaded. With Pre-Emptive Self-Defense in mind, the STRONGEST MAN IN THE WORLD marched off to the Iraq war. Now the Bush team had two wars to manage.

The Bush team’s neocons needed help with their Afghanistan war. NATO was approached.

At first NATO seemed reluctant but for some reason it did come around to Mr. Bush’s thinking. NATO responded favorably to helping the Bush team’s war in Afghanistan.

While the Bush team fought two minor hot wars: one in Afghanistan and one in Iraq, an opportunity for a potentially devasting war presented itself. This possibility might just be the BIG ONE! It might just be the Armageddon that the world was warned about. It might be what the nuclear scientist’s Doomsday Clock feared. It could be Mr. Bush’s threatned WWIII.

NATO, which is not doing “too good” in Afghanistan, now wants to tackle the Russian-Georgia problem. Georgia is adjacent to Russia. Georgia is this/close to Russia. Russia’s influence has been in Georgia for a long, long, long, long time – perhaps before NATO was born. And Georgia is not a member of NATO. Those conditions likely make up a neocon’s dream. Messing around somewhere it has no business being. And NATO would provide a military solution – not a diplomatic solution. And some, other than neocons, would likely wonder what business NATO has being in Georgia. Georgia is not a member of NATO.

The Bush team’s watch, with its total lack of diplomacy, is the wrong time to try and solve Russia’s Georgia problem. NATO is quite likely the wrong tool, in the wrong place - conditions made for neocons. There is no better way to produce their traditional train-wreck performance.

Neocons would love it, but the world should be leery of neocon type involvement in a situation that is likely to ask Russia to prove that it has BACKBONE. It makes no sense, but that’s where the Bush team and neocons RUSH IN.

Imagine the neocons response if Russia, once again, made a strong presence in Cuba. Or maybe even Venezeula. The cries of “foul” from the Bush team would be louder than the human ear can withstand.

The Bush team has more than qualified for impeachment. The Bush team has trampled America’s laws, started wars that only the Bush team knows why, created secret world wide prisons, subjected citizens of other countries to harsh interrogation techniques while they were imprisoned, possibly, on foreign soil.

America’s Congress, the House of Representatives in particular, FAILED to do its duty of impeaching the Bush team. Don’t, for a moment, look for a history of the House of Representatives and impeachment. It will remind you of the “JIM CROW” years. JIM CROW provided a dual system of laws. One set of laws applied to Blacks while another set applied to Whites. The basis for that dual system was racial while the basis for the House’s behavior is political.

A Democratic President, who fails to tell the truth about “improper touching”, is impeached while a far right wing Republican, who has broken many laws, started mysterious wars, etc. is not impeached.

The Bush team, like all Americans, would be considered innocent until proved guilty. The WATERBOARDING process(a no-brainer) would not be used to improve the chances of getting a confession from the Bush team.

America, my how you have changed!
